Catalytic decomposition of NO2 over a copper-decorated metal–organic framework by non-thermal plasma

چکیده
Efficient catalytic conversion of NO2 to non-harmful species remains an important target for research. State-of-the-art deNOx processes are based upon ammonia (NH3)-assisted selective reduction (NH3-SCR) over Cu-exchanged zeolites at elevated temperatures. Here, we describe a highly efficient non-thermal plasma (NTP) process catalyzed by Cu-embedded metal-organic framework, Cu/MFM-300(Al), room temperature. Under NTP activation 25°C, Cu/MFM-300(Al) enables direct decomposition into N2, NO, N2O, and O2 without the use NH3 or other reducing agents. 96% with N2 selectivity 82% turnover frequency 2.9 h−1 is achieved, comparable leading NH3-SCR catalysts that operating 250°C–550°C. The mechanism rate-determining step (NO→N2) elucidated in operando diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy confirms formation Cu2+⋯NO nitrosylic adducts on which facilitates NO dissociation results notable selectivity.

Catalytic decomposition of CF4 over copper promoted mesoporous catalysts
A series of mesoporous catalysts (MCM-41) promoted by copper oxide nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation method and tested for the decomposition of carbon tetrafluoride (CF4). The addition of copper oxide nanoparticles to MCM-41 led to an improvement in the catalytic activity for CF4 decomposition. The catalyst was the most active around 5 wt% copper oxide added to MCM-41. Methods...
